Above is the diplomat's take on the same idea.
A lot is hinging on the year 2020 and here's why:
1) 2019 is the 70 year anniversary of the Communist Party's hold on the levers of power over China and as I have said before there is something about the number 70 and communist parties. The Soviet Union ruled over Russia starting in 1917. 70 years later a certain Ronald Reagan was raised up and publicly demanded that the leader of the Soviet Union at the time, Mikhail Gorbachev "tear down this wall" referring to the wall they had created separating East and West Germany. June 12th was the date. It would fall 2 years later and the Union fell after that. By 1987 the cracks in the wall so to speak had become obvious for the whole entire world to see that it was all coming to an end.
China's communist party deadline comes in 2019...will the cracks in its wall be so obvious as well that it too will fall?
North Korea's deadline was this year 2018 from 1948...70 years and the cracks were too much for even Kim Jong Un. He was basically forced to walk across the DMZ and shake hands with the South, another dividing line, one that was also put in place with the help of China much the same way the Soviet Union put up a dividing line between East and West Germany. What we see happening with North Korea is having ground shaking effects on the Communist Party of China and the cracks will get larger as Xi Jin Ping's grip on power tightens.
2) Xi Jin Ping has vowed to "reunify" Taiwan with mainland China during his reign and last year a leaked document out of China revealed that china has a plan in place to take the island nation by force by 2020.
3) The Trump factor...No other president has stood up to China like President Trump has. This alone puts pressure on the Party to act with greater urgency especially if Trump is reelected in 2020 which I believe is a "shoe in". Recent polling shows his popularity among the GOP as higher than Reagan's, higher than Obama's or JFK's for their respective parties at the same time in their presidencies. In other words, it's off the charts historic.
