What does "fight to the end" mean and specifically what does end mean?
These are the words uttered by Chinese officials after the trade disputes escalated earlier this year. But does this statement reflect more than just simply trade issues? Is there any hint of not only trade war but all out war hidden in these words?
As we noted before there is a 70 year glass ceiling awaiting the Chinese Communist Party of China come October 2019. If it appears at that time that China is losing the trade war and that this would also compromise its desire to "reunify" Taiwan with the mainland as well as other global aspirations in the South China Sea, North Korea, etc, is it possible that the Party may look inward and say its time to put all our cards on the table...either we risk war with America now or face the implosion of our Party and go down in history like the former Soviet Union. It is a real possibility given that Xi Jin Ping has taken a stranglehold on power and especially the military with buildups targeting America. In fact it appears to be the plan from long ago and just now starting to appear as reality.
In the end this trade war is also about geopolitics and the future of the 21st century and China has already stated that the world must now choose between Xi Jin Ping's model or Donald Trump's model. This is the epic battle of our time and according to Chinese officials they are prepared to "fight to the end".
