The geopolitical chessboard is enormous and the players like America, Russia and China are all watching very closely.
It's not a coincidence that Trump came out today before his meeting with South Korean president saying the meeting with Kim Jong Un of North Korea may be delayed and also that he is prepared to cancel the meeting if certain conditions are not met. This all comes after basically a stalemate of trade negotiations that did not amount to a whole lot. The North Korea issue is much bigger than we realize and both China and Iran have much to do with it. The fallout of the Iran deal triggered a second meeting of Kim Jong Un in China and that meeting triggered a new found boldness for the North Korean leader. All of these issues played a large role in the trade war being put "on hold" according to Treasury Secretary Mnuchin.
